In an heartwarming gesture, former National Football League (NFL) star Jason Kelce was surprised with a special retirement gift from his wife, Kylie, as reported by People.
The 31-year-old mother of three took to her Instagram Story on Monday to share a post by Georgia-based woodworker, Dana Theobald, giving her a shoutout for crafting the unique gift for Jason, 36.
Kylie disclosed that she had initiated the process of preparing the retirement gift for her husband two years prior to his official departure from the NFL in March. She commissioned Theobald to create a custom wooden replica of Lincoln Financial Field, the iconic stadium where Jason, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, played for 13 seasons.
“I messaged @danatheo.designs TWO years ago! She came up with this beautiful custom design and then waited for me to give the retirement green light and J’s final list of accolades,” Kylie shared on her Instagram Story.
Expressing gratitude to Theobald for her patience and for crafting the perfect retirement gift, Kylie added, “Thank you so much @danatheo.designs for your patience and the perfect retirement gift! ????”
Theobald’s post, which Kylie shared, showcased various shots of Jason’s retirement gift and was captioned: “A project that is so special to me and that I’m very excited to share. Thank you so much @kykelce for commissioning me to make @jason.kelce‘s retirement gift of Lincoln Financial Field. It was truly an honor ????????????.”
The meticulously crafted gift also features Jason’s football jersey number engraved next to a list of his notable achievements in the sport, commemorating his illustrious career in the NFL.
